Meetings held on Thursdays (3.15pm - 4.00pm)
Maypole School Council meet once a week after school on a Thursday. They have their own action plan (please see link below) which they work towards each week. All actions are decided by the children and they ask the opinions of other children in the school by using surveys.
Maypole School Council raise a great deal of money for different charities each year and spend a lot of their own time setting up activities on these special days. All of the ideas come from the children and they are very proud of everything they have achieved.
A Playmaker is in the KS1 and KS2 playgrounds during lunch to keep students occupied by playing a variety of games that are fun and active. These pupils are using leadership skills and taking control of different situations that arise within these games.
During lunchtimes the Buddy Scheme will be in place in the KS1 and KS2 playground. IT involves the Buddies playing with children who are lonely, help keep an eye on younger children, support children with friendship issues, help children who are sad, look out for bullying/prevent fights, create a peaceful atmosphere, be someone other children can go up to and talk to and organise games.
Peer Mediator is problem solving by youth with youth. If pupils are having a dispute they will calm them down and talk over the situation and work out a solution to the problems at hand.
