Author Visit

On Wednesday 14th December, children in years 1 - 4 had the pleasure of an author visit in school. Joseph Hopkins, author of the children's book 'Lydia Greenfingers', came into school to share his book with the children and he also showed clips to promote his next book 'The Nappy.' The children were able to ask him questions about his books and they all thoroughly enjoyed his visit.

EYFS Nativity - "A Miracle in Town"

EYFS put on a TERRIFIC moving performance of the Christmas Nativity – ‘A Miracle in Town.’ The children were so confident telling the story and sang beautifully, a magnificent achievement for children who have only been in school three months.

KS1 Nativity - "Midwife Crisis"

KS1 gave us two fantastic performance of ‘A Midwife Crisis’. There were a lot of long speeches in the play but the children memorised every word – again superb acting and singing – well done to all the children!

KS2 - Christmas Carol Concert

The KS2 Christmas Carol Concerts at St Barnabas Church were wonderful. The children have been practising very hard; they sang the Christmas Carols and songs with enthusiasm and pride, and spoke clearly with expression sharing the Christmas Story.

£225 was raised from collections after the Carol Concerts; half the money will be given to the school’s charity, Breast Cancer Research, and half to the charity supported by St Barnabas Church. Thank you for your kind donations.

World Book Day - March 2015

It was fantastic to see so many children dressed as book characters to celebrate World Book Day. We were impressed by the creativity and imagination of many of the outfits. Thank you for the time and effort that must have been spent dressing the children up and to Mrs Hunnisett and Mrs Caselton for organising the day!
