Maths Scheme of Work

Children are taught Mathematics so that they have a good knowledge of concepts and are able to apply their understanding to solve problems and reason mathematically.  Children are encouraged to make connections between concepts and within different contexts. It is important that children develop the ability to apply and use concepts in meaningful ways.

Each year group has a specific programme of study that follows the White Rose Maths Scheme of Work (https://whiterosemaths.com/). Children are taught these key concepts in daily lessons and through cross curricular problem solving activities.   Each scheme of work is divided into key areas:

- Number and place value

- Addition and subtraction

- Multiplication and division

- Fractions and decimals

- Measurement

- Geometry

- Statistics
